LATIN NAMES are not required, but when added they have to be placed in the left column, within square brackets [].

Only single elements from the periodic table like <Fe> and commonly used abbreviations like <CO2> are considered abbreviations to be enclosed in angle brackets.

- placement within angle brackets <>
- in both columns if shorter than (or exactly) 8 characters
- only in the left column if longer

It's not necessary to add Latin names to botanical, medical, chemical or similar entries. However, if you still want to add them, place them in square brackets and only in the left column.
